7 Days Sri Lanka Itinerary

Day 1: Colombo

Arrive in Colombo, check in, and start with a visit to Gangaramaya Temple for a cultural introduction. Spend the evening at Galle Face Green enjoying sunset views and local street food. If time allows, explore Pettah Market for a glimpse of everyday city life.

Day 2: Sigiriya

Travel to Sigiriya early in the morning. Climb the iconic Sigiriya Rock Fortress, stopping to see the frescoes and Mirror Wall before reaching the summit for panoramic views. In the evening, relax or opt for a local village experience with traditional food and activities.

Day 3: Dambulla & Kandy

Begin with a visit to Dambulla Cave Temple, known for its ancient murals and Buddha statues. Continue to Kandy and visit the Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic. End the day with a peaceful walk around Kandy Lake or attend a cultural dance performance.

Day 4: Train to Nuwara Eliya

Take the scenic train journey from Kandy to Nuwara Eliya, passing through tea plantations and misty hills. Once there, explore the town’s colonial charm and enjoy the cooler climate.

Day 5: Nuwara Eliya Exploration

Visit a tea plantation and factory to learn about Sri Lanka’s famous tea production. Spend time at Gregory Lake and explore nearby viewpoints or walking trails through the hills.

Day 6: Yala National Park

Travel to Yala for a wildlife safari. Spot elephants, leopards, and other animals in their natural habitat. The landscape here shifts from dense forest to open savannah, making it one of the best safari experiences in Sri Lanka.

Day 7: Galle & South Coast + Departure

Head to Galle and explore the historic Galle Fort, with its colonial architecture and seaside views. Visit the lighthouse and enjoy a relaxed walk along the coast. Later, return to Colombo for your departure.
